The Eagle has landed.

We left Chicago at 5:30 this morning. We encountered some snow. Not too much, but Ohio was kind of tricky in spots.

I got pulled over for doing 70 mph in a 55 zone. In the snow. The police officer reminded me that I was driving my children. He gave me a $135 ticket. Thereafter, I'm pleased to say that sanity prevailed.

So I mostly drove at the speed limit. Yes, Virginia; there is a Sanity Clause.

We arrived in New Hampshire at 1:30 a.m. Eastern time.

The car is unpacked and the wine is being drunk.

Life is good!

  1. And you doubted the capabilities of AWD! HA!

My next burst of bad influence will be to get you a radar detector.

  2. Hey, I've got an idea for you. If you're worried about driving on snow when you're in New England, why not rent a car with AWD?

Yes, I'm full of brilliant ideas like that. Stick around--another one might pop up any time now.

  6. The police will say that to parents they pull over here too. I think it's excellent. I sold my car when I moved to live in the city (Toronto) but when I was driving everyone was speeding around me and most of the biggest speeders were driving SUV's with kids in them.

I was living in a town which was dipped down into a valley. The roads all around the town could be pretty slippery in winter. Twice someone who sped around me (because I wasn't speeding) went into a good spin through the snow. One went off the road and I just drove by and waved at the flaming moron. :)
