The 12 Days of Blogmas: Day 10

I woke up this morning after a late flight from Chicago, mostly feeling pleased that I wasn't going to see any members of my extended family today.

I spent the day plotting my escape from my immediate family. Not that I don't love them, but 24/7 every day since December 22? Means I could use a little more solitude and a little less "Mom, can I have lunch?"

Between fixing meals and snacks and cleaning up same, I made a few phone calls. I'm chairing a fundraiser in June, and I need to take care of a lot of details.

But I what I really needed was to GET AWAY FROM MY FAMILY.

So I went out and did a little shopping. I bought a couple of lamps. And about a million shelter magazines at the magazine store. Country Living, Accent on Home and Garden, Romantic Homes, This Old House, and Period Living. What an orgy I had ... so many pretty pictures, a person could leap for joy.

And now, for your delectation, 10 Lords a-Leaping.

Note to self: They go back to school--and the office--on Monday.

  1. god! me too! I am so sick of my family that going back to work was wonderful, and that's saying something as the only people more annoying than my family are the people I work with...

btw, i am really enjoying your twelve days of blogmas.
