Badger's complaining that thanks to her son, she can't get Weird Al's "White and Nerdy" out of her head.
Speaking as the proud owner of a talking Ed Grimley doll, a hardback copy of The Official Preppy Handbook, a 33 RPM recording by Helen Gurley Brown that I've never listened to, and a massive number of Modern Priscilla magazines, the most important song in Weird Al's oeuvre--his heartbreaking work of staggering genius, if you will--isn't "White and Nerdy." Although "White and Nerdy" is, of course, a classic.
No, the Weird Al song is this beauty:
I'm so white and nerdy that I don't even know what 90% of his songs are spoofing anymore.
ReplyDeleteI didn't even know he was still around - thought he was just an 80's phenomenon. So I'm more out of it than badger is.
ReplyDelete"Eat it" is still my favorite.
ReplyDeleteHeh.
ReplyDeleteEat It is great, but Another One Rides The Bus is genius.
right.
ReplyDeleteNow I'll have that earworm all day.
Yes!! Eat It and Another One Rides the Bus... and.. and... The Clone song... and.. Addicted to Spuds... I keep saying this everywhere but I GET TO GO SEE HIM IN CONCERT NEXT WEEK!!!
ReplyDeleteROFLMAO!!! This is hilarious. (I say this as the wife of a power seller.)
ReplyDeleteHe was here at the fair this week but I don't go there at night. Great song though and so true.
ReplyDeleteMy personal favorite is "Amish Paradise".
