Bloomington, Indiana

I spent the day at Indiana University's Jacob School of Music. We sat through presentations and went on a lengthy tour of the music school, ate excellent Korean-style sashimi, got into our fawncy dress and makeup (OK, that part only applies to my daughter) warmed up and auditioned (again, just her: I read during that part) and went out to dinner and the opera with my daughter's boyfriend.

So great to hear and see such youthful singers in this opera. Carmen was actually alluring. WHO KNEW?

Tomorrow is a free day, and I plan to spend it exploring downtown Bloomington, which you'll be surprised to learn, is not an oxymoron. It's actually a very interesting little city, long on charm, boutiques, brew pubs, bookstores, and other places to spend time and money.

I'll try to supply a full report tomorrow. Good night, internet.
