Coming soon on the Beauty Boomer

I'm derrière-deep in alligators right now, with too many social engagements, too much volunteer stuff, school stuff for my kids, and the usual pile of laundry. While I'm scurrying around doing that, I'm also working on a few posts--mentally, that is--just figuring out what direction I'm going to take next. So Internet, I'd like your opinion on what to post next. Do any of these interest you?

  1. A series on neutral, everyday eye makeup: what works for women our age; what products and colors I recommend; what techniques work best.
  2. A series in which I make myself into the internet's guinea pig by buying and trying some anti-aging skin care, and then reporting my findings.
  3. Ideas on coordinating your look; looking polished, pulled together, and age-appropriate.
  4. How I decide how much to pay for clothes, or, My So-Called Budget.

What do you think, sirs?

  3. eye make up would be good, especially when wearing glasses like you do!

    I am farsighted, with glasses.

the budget-on-clothes thingy is also good. But it might need information about the individual $$$ background. it makes a difference if someone with a montly income of 2000 buys banana republic or 5000. or if someone pays rent or inherited the appartment from the parents.

btw: did you find my question on the 10 things? I still have no clue what this is about! TYIA!

  5. Yes. I'd like to be able to apply eye makeup without looking like a whore at the end. Thank you.

  6. #s 1 and 3 are my top choices. #2 is interesting -- Rosina at Middle Ageless does it some, but there's a limit to how many products one person can try, so it would be nice to have another person giving an opinion.

As for the budget, I think Paula is right in her comment above -- too many variables.

  8. Guinea Pig! I never trust the magazine reviews, so an impartial review would be amazing!!

  9. I'm voting for 1 and 3. In fact I was just thinking yesterday morning that I needed to email you begging you to do an eye shadow series. Because color me clueless. I'm still using the same "style" from nearly 8 years ago when I got married and had my make-up professionally done for my wedding.

  10. I'd read about all and probably would be most interest in the anti-aging product results and the eye makeup. I rarely wear eye makeup but still. I'd read about it.

  13. 1) I'm always interested in natural looking makeup YES

    2) Results would take too long, would vary between persons NO

    3) Polished, polished, polished YES YES YES

    4) Budget, NOT REALLY

Jewelry... I've been wondering about all these large, chunky pieces of costume jewelry... I've mostly kept my own look limited to a few real (or CV) pieces.
    Does that age me?

  17. My 52 year old eyelids are sagging so much that I've stopped wearing eye shadow. I need to know what will make them look a little less saggy.

  19. #1 for sure. I, too, am wearing the makeup that I learned to do when I got married ... and don't get me started on my hair. Also, #2: I will never get tired of learning about what works and what doesn't in this aging caper. I've done quite a bit myself but always love to get a recommendation from someone who's "been there" recently.

  21. LOVE,LOVE,LOVE your blog. Very interested in the eye makeup series. I'm getting ready to try one of the new anti-aging skin treatments on the market. I've got acne prone over 40 skin zits and wrinkles, what a cruel twist of fate...ugh!

  24. I look forward to reading all of them, but I'm in desperate need of the eye make-up advice. I listened to the chick at Macy's last weekend, and the results were almost tragic.
