In which I clean up my act

Pink and taupe straw wide brimmed hat trimmed with pink silk flowers. Oh, and yours truly.
I need to catch my breath—I've gone to so many events in Palm Beach that my brain is in a whirl. I went out to dinner with friends twice, attended a dinner dance, went out to lunch, and today went to an amazing brunch (featuring a caviar bar!) and polo game at the International Polo Club.

Any excuse to wear a hat, right?

    1. Fascinators fascinate me ... love them on others, haven't quite mastered the look for myself. I'm working on it--begin with contact lenses instead of glasses, methinks, and move on from that. Correct?

    2. Well you can wear glasses with a fascinator ! We have the famous Royal Melbourne Cup in November and the ladies "track side" always wear sunglasses and they look fine :)

    1. I am! But today will thankfully be less dressy. I love my finery, but I felt I was spending a disproportionate amount of time grooming myself!

  3. It's a great hat.
Isn't it nice to have a good head for a hat?

    1. Actually, I don't. I lucked out with this one, but I have a huge noggin and most women's hats are too small.

  4. I have to ask.
How did you pack that hat in a carry-on?
    :/

    1. Paola, Paola, Paola. Carry-on? My dear, I brought five pairs of shoes and three bags for a week's trip. I didn't use a carry-on, I packed my gear in a huge hard-sided suitcase, the kind that open like a clam. Each side has a cover, so one half was my clothes, and the other side was my hats, buoyed up with tissue and held in place with rolled up t-shirts and the like.

Packing for this trip is hell.
