12 Days of Blogmas, Day 8

Happy New Year, internet!

We're driving to Boston to have lunch with my brother HENRY and then traveling to Rhode Island to visit my in-laws, so this is going to have to be fast.

Here's todays' contest: figure out which Christmas Carol is illustrated by the following uncredited Google images at the rate of one image per word. Leave a guess in a comment. The first person to guess right wins his or her choice of a $15 Starbucks or iTunes card.

Maybe it's my new year's resolution to be merciful and cut the internet some slack, but internet, I have heard your whining. So I've decided to make things a little bit easier for you. I've recycled an image from a previous day, and it's a repeated word, so it appears twice. So don't say I've never done anything for you. Even with your hangover, this shouldn't be all that hard.

Here goes:

  1. Ooh, ooh, is it The First Noel, the angels did say...?

  3. first off.. happy new year, momma!

I think I've been not approaching your contest right. I was thinking the pictures were the words of the title of the song... and not reading YOUR RULES which say that the pictures depict the first LINE of the carol, and we must GUESS the title.

cause you know.. I'm a bit Polish like that. I mean.. c'mon. me? read the RULES? ;)

anyways... I'm going to get cut-throat here and say I agree with Onthecurb, but my guess for the actual song title is "The First Noel."

you know.. in case you get all Alex Trebek on us and we have to be exact.

not that you would.. cause then TECHNICALLY the time I won wouldn't count cause I said something else was going to be my first guess, and I KNOW the producers of jeopardy wouldn't fly with that crap.

anyways. I love that you're doing this. I think the contest is awesome. (there... NOW can I be a winner? or do I need to brown-nose more???)

    safe travels!

  4. Can I just win a prize for listening to Say Anything at the same time as reading this blog post. :P

Afterall, their pic is sort of throwing me off the Christmas trail...

  5. Okay, okay. Yes, "The First Noel" is the actual title. Not only did I not write the title by itself, I also left out the 'd' in 'bed.'. My new year is already not looking bright.

    What's the verdict, Mrs. Poppy?

  6. I'm pretty sure it's: OH, GOOD CHRIST, JUST SHOOT ME NOW.

    I am.
    I'm pretty sure.

  7. Onthecurb: Yes! You have it!

Onthecurb: Actually, I've seen both versions.

Carrie: Actually, if you really want to go mental, in most cases, the first line of a Christmas carol is the same thing as the title. So onthecurb nailed it. But honestly, I think I need you to keep me on the straight and narrow, because you think you don't read my rules? Hey, I don't read my rules, and I write them. And somebody around here needs to be paying attention.
